Over the course of 30 years, DIS Sensors has built up a reputation in the field of high quality sensor technology. They develop, produce and sell sensors for various applications from their headquarters in Soest, the Netherlands. They value innovation and know-how above all else. The result: high-quality products and solutions from DIS Sensors to serve the global market. DIS sensors has been and ISO 9001 certifies manufacture since 2001.
DIS Sensors offers a wide range of sensors for measuring inclination and acceleration as well as rotary encoders. DIS Sensors has an excellent reputation in the field of customised solutions and the are proud to be your partner in innovation. Because they work with a network of carefully selected suppliers, like Primary Solution & Controls, they can offer high quality at competitive prices.
The QG series of inclination sensors measures angles in 1 or 2 axes. These products are based on robust MEMS technology, in which capacitance differences can be converted into an analogue voltage within a micro-mechanical sensor chip. This analogue voltage is proportional to the angle to which the sensor is exposed. The modular design makes it easy to adapt the sensors to specific requirements.

A tilt switch is a type of switch that switches at a certain angle as compared to the horizon (similar to the old mercury switch). It is in fact an inclinometer with a switching output. Since gravity serves as a reference maximum mounting freedom is achieved. The tilt switches from DIS Sensors are based on MEMS technology and intelligent microcontroller algorithms. As a result, single or twin axis switches can be implemented with any desired switching angle. The output can be NPN or PNP. A SIL1 / PLc tilt switch for safety applications completes the portfolio. An optional configurator is available to configure the switch (angles, delay times, filtering).

The QR series of rotary encoders enable contact-free measurement of an angular displacement from 0° to 360° without a mechanical stop. Two types of housing are available. The QR30 housing, where the sensor and magnet are mounted separately from each other, and the QR40 housing, where the magnet is integrated into the rotating shaft in the housing.

The first concern of the designer or OEM must be to ensure the safety of the user of their machine. This is achieved initially through intrinsically safe design, followed by the use of safety components and control systems, and finally by establishing the proper procedures for commissioning, use, maintenance and ultimately, disposal of the machine.
Safety components provide functionalities such as ensuring that the machine stops when a body part gets caught in it, or that a robot adopts a safe speed when a person enters the hazardous zone, or any number of other ‘if…then’ situations. Safety components can therefore be seen as products that respond to an incident in a predefined way.
For every new machine (including existing machines ‘substantially modified’ by maintenance), a risk assessment must be performed to determine where and what kinds of safety components are required. Every specific hazardous situation is examined: what are the consequences, how often and for how long can this situation occur, and what are the options to prevent the danger? Those hazards that have the severest consequences, highest probability of occurring and fewest options for prevention, will require the most reliable safety functionality.
